I love this state...

Tomorrow is November 1st and I'm wearing shorts.
It is absolutely gorgeous out tonight. All of the neighborhood kids are running around screaming, yelling and pretty much doing whatever it takes to make Charlie bark his fool head off.
Charlie and I were sitting on the back patio tonight sharing a beer and looking at a beautiful sunset. I just had to take a minute to thank God for the stunning display as well as all the other things and people that are in my life. I have it good.

Days go by...

It's been almost a week since this sickness started. I went to my doctor and he diagnosed it as a severe sinus infection, so now I'm on two different types of anti-biotic and a decongestant. I am as dry as a bleached out desert bone. It's affecting my vision, since I had Lasik surgery 4 years ago my eyes are very sensitive to dryness and my vision gets blurry. And my skin is getting like a gator, dry and scaly especially on my knees and elbows. Not to mention constantly peeing. As fast as I drink something it wants to come out. I feel like a funnel.
The good news is that the chemical cocktail he prescribed seems to be working. I'm feeling a little more normal and I actually got out of the house yesterday to attend the Chili Cook-off. My friend Dawn had an entry in that contest. Tonight I went to Emily's place and had dinner with her family. So I think I'm going to survive.
I need something to drink...

Pray for me...

I am about to croak from complications from a stupid cold. I am miserable and can't sleep. Plus I am developing a toothache.
Time to get my drink on...

A few days off...

Friday, Emily and I are flying to Dallas to visit our friend Darla and her husband Paul. I haven't had an "out of town" vacation for years and I'm looking forward to it.
We leave Ocala at 5:30am (ugh) on Friday and should arrive in Dallas around noon. Saturday we are having a huge bar-b-que with about 40 people. I get to be the assistant to the Grillmaster and plan on charring many pounds of beef, chicken and pork. Yummy!!
Sunday will be spent goofing off and doing some fun stuff in downtown Dallas. Emily has never been so it's really going to be an adventure for her, however, she's a bit nervous about flying. But she'll be with a seasoned veteran flyer (me) and it will all be good.
Monday we fly back home and then back to the salt mines on Tuesday.
At least it will be a four day week...
